Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 11, 2026
Effective Date: April 11, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the SDLC 101 website or enrolling in the course. By accessing this site, submitting the waitlist form, or signing in as an enrolled student, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of this site.

01 About the service

SDLC 101 ("the course," "the site," "we," "us") is an independently operated, instructor-led online course teaching the Software Development Lifecycle to beginner and junior developers. The course website is located at sdlc-dev.vercel.app and is operated solely by Angel, a full-stack software engineer.

The site currently offers the following to the general public:

  • Course information and announcements
  • Instructor profile
  • Student project showcase
  • Waitlist registration

Enrolled students are granted access to course materials via authenticated Google sign-in.

SDLC 101 is currently in a limited pilot phase. Availability of the course, its content, and enrollment are subject to change at any time.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this site, submit the waitlist form, or enroll in the course. By using this site, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

There is no requirement to be a professional developer to apply or enroll. The course is explicitly designed for beginners and junior developers. However, you are expected to engage in good faith, put in honest effort, and participate constructively within the learning community.

03 Accounts & access

Access to course content requires signing in with a valid Google account via Google OAuth 2.0, powered by NextAuth.js. By using Google sign-in, you agree to Google's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. SDLC 101 is not responsible for Google's handling of your account data.

Your account access is personal and non-transferable. Please do not share your login or allow others to access course content through your account. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure, and we ask that you contact us promptly at sdlc.instructor@gmail.com if you suspect any unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke access if account misuse is detected.

04 Waitlist & enrollment

Submitting the waitlist form does not guarantee enrollment. It expresses your interest in a future course run and provides us with your contact details so we may reach out when new slots become available.

Enrollment decisions are made solely at the instructor's discretion. Factors such as cohort size, applicant background, course capacity and instructor availability may affect whether and when you are offered a spot.

You may request removal from the waitlist at any time by contacting us. Upon removal, your submitted information will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The waitlist form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated submissions. Attempting to bypass or circumvent this protection is a violation of these terms.

05 Course content & intellectual property

All course materials — including but not limited to written content, lesson structures, documentation, diagrams, code samples, and instructional videos — are the intellectual property of the course operator and are protected by applicable copyright law.

As an enrolled student, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use course materials for your own personal learning purposes only. This means you may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute course materials in any form
  • Share login credentials or private course links with non-enrolled individuals
  • Use course materials for commercial purposes, resale, or to teach others outside the course
  • Publish or publicly post course content without prior written permission

Any code you write, projects you build or diagrams/documentation you create during the course remain your own intellectual property, unless they incorporate substantial elements of provided course templates or starter code, in which case those portions retain the original license.

06 Student conduct

SDLC 101 is a focused, small-group learning environment built on trust and mutual respect. We ask all students to communicate professionally and engage with the material and each other in good faith. Behaviors that disrupt this — including harassment, plagiarism, unauthorized access attempts, or using course channels for spam — are not acceptable and may result in removal from the course.

07 Student work & showcase

Completed student projects may be featured in the public Showcase section of the site — but only with your explicit consent. Project features are entirely opt-in — we will only display your work with your explicit prior approval.

If you consent to having your project showcased, you grant SDLC 101 a limited, non-exclusive license to display a summary or overview of your project on the site for the purpose of inspiring future students. You retain full ownership of your project and may request its removal from the showcase at any time by contacting us.

08 Payments & fees

The current pilot run of SDLC 101 may be offered at no cost, at a subsidized rate, or at a standard tuition fee, at the instructor's discretion. Any applicable fees and payment terms will be communicated directly to accepted students before enrollment is confirmed.

Unless explicitly stated in your enrollment offer, all fees are non-refundable once course access has been granted. If you have any questions about pricing or refunds before committing, please reach out — we're happy to discuss it.

SDLC 101 does not currently process payments directly through this website. Any payment instructions will be provided through direct correspondence.

09 Privacy

Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how it's used, and what rights you have. By using the service, you consent to the practices described in that policy.

10 Disclaimer of warranties

This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do our best to keep things running smoothly and to provide quality instructionm but we cannot not warrant that:

  • The site will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Course content will be free of inaccuracies or will meet every individual's learning objectives or expectations
  • Access to the site or course materials will always be available

Completion of this course does not guarantee employment, a specific salary, or any particular career outcome. The course is designed to build practical skills — your results will largely depend on the effort and application you put in.

11 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SDLC 101 and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or course materials.

In no event shall our total liability to you for any claim related to this site or course exceed the amount you paid (if any) for enrollment in the specific course run to which the claim relates.

12 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the site and/or course at any time with at most 1 week prior notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or engaged in conduct harmful to the learning community.

You may also choose to discontinue use of the site at any time. If you are an enrolled student and wish to withdraw from the course, please notify us via email. Withdrawal does not automatically entitle you to a refund unless otherwise agreed upon at enrollment.

Upon termination, your license to access course content is immediately revoked. Any provisions of these terms that by nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

13 Service availability

As a small, independently operated platform, SDLC 101 may occasionally need to modify, pause, or discontinue parts of the service — whether to update course content, address technical issues, or adjust the course offering between cohorts. We'll do our best to communicate meaningful changes in advance through the Announcements section of the site.

14 Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or disruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control — such as internet outages, natural disasters, or failures of third-party platforms we rely on (including Vercel, Google, or Cloudflare). In such situations, we will make reasonable efforts to restore normal service as quickly as possible.

15 Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time as the course evolves. When changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the site after any revision means you accept the updated terms.

Material changes — particularly those that affect your rights as an enrolled student — will be communicated via the Announcements section of the website or directly by email where possible.

16 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from your use of this site or course shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts of the Philippines.

17 Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, represent the full agreement between you and SDLC 101 regarding your use of this site and course. They supersede any prior communications or understandings on the same subject.
